5 Habits That Make Your AI Prompts Actually Work

Specific, structured prompts beat vague ones—here is how to write them fast.

Vague prompts get vague results. Instead of "write about coffee," state the role, audience, format, and length: "As a barista, write a 100-word guide for beginners on brewing pour-over coffee." The more constraints you give, the less the model has to guess.

Show, don't just tell. Paste one or two examples of the tone or structure you want, then ask for more in that style. For images and video, name the subject, camera angle, lighting, and mood explicitly—"a low-angle shot, golden-hour light, cinematic"—rather than hoping the model infers them.

Iterate instead of restarting. Keep the parts that worked and refine one variable at a time: shorten it, change the tone, or add a detail. On B4AI you can run the same refined prompt across chat, image, and video models to see which one nails your intent, then reuse the winning phrasing.
